Blog post 3: How changes in technology impact on the way humans communicate, and the ethical issues that surround these changes Technology is changing every day to constantly meet the needs of consumers and I believe that this technology has an impact on the way humans communicate. There are many negative and positive impacts that technological changes have on our everyday life. However, I believe that many ethical issues must be considered regarding these changes. Technology can have potential harm to one’s social life or enhance social skills and social life. Harankhedkar (2018) states that one of the main negative impacts that technology has on communication is it impacts essential interpersonal skills. This is due to the increased frequency of communication through text and chatting websites rather than face to face communication. Driving question: Can you convince a diverse group of educators that online games are fun, but there are so many more benefits too. I believe that if educators are able to implement online games into their lesson plans and classroom activities it can be exceptionally beneficial. Although online games have negative implications affiliated with them I believe that online games can be extremely beneficial for a child’s learning and development. There are many benefits that online games have in the classroom for example they promote individual learning and they improve engagement with learning material (Dogra, 2019). Enhanced individual learning is able to be achieved through online games as differentiation occurs, because all students are at different levels and have different styles of learning. Having online games in the classroom makes it easier for teachers to differentiate classwork to allow for cater for the different needs for the students (Help Teaching, 2017). Students are a...
